Easy Flapjacks with Futurelife

Flapjacks made easy

Our youngest son is not a fan of eating. If it’s chocolates or sweets then he’ll eat them all day but we need to get energy into him that is better than straight sugar. These flapjacks, whilst high in sugar, contain oats which have a slower release of energy and we had added an additional goodness of the Futurelife Cereal. They take approx 20 mins in total to make.

In a pan , melt :

250g butter
3/4 cup of brown sugar
250g   golden syrup

Once melted, add and stir in :

1 cup Futurelife
350g  of Rolled Oats
Pinch of salt

Spread evenly on some greaseproof paper on a baking tray and pop into an oven at 180 degrees for approx 15 mins, until the oats turn a lightly golden colour. Remove from the oven and leave in the baking tray to cool.

They are nice and sticky. If you prefer them to be crunchier, cook for longer and also put less syrup in.

If you don’t have Futurelife, replace it with more oats.  I had a chat with the bunch at Futurelife to ask about the temperatures that you can cook their products to. The vitamins and minerals will be compromised but the rest will retain its goodness. The main part that we want from it is the protein and energy as I give the boys vitamin and minerals anyway. So this is an easy way to give them that extra sustenance along with increasing their energy needs with the amount of butter. This recipe is not recommended for anyone looking to lose weight.

**Lastly, I have bought this product and really believe in it and have not been compensated for this**
